So.. here's the deal. I'm in my second semester of college, first time ever, and I'm honestly very surprised with myself. Here's why...

When I first started college, art was something I loved, but I was never really sure if I had the chops for it. Could I really create something that inspires people and catches the eye? Did I have it in me? Well, when the projects started to come, I would do them, but they would never reach my expectations. I had great ambitions, but the execution always seemed to ruin me. Pretty soon art was just what I needed to do for my major and to get my credits and move on; I had lost the will to really try and produce anything artistic. Hell, I didn't even want to doodle anymore.

I felt about at the end of my rope, and after an all-nighter--which happened to be one of many--and a nervous breakdown I was. So after some counciling and some serious searching of self, I left for Christmas break, feeling very satisfied to get away from it all.

Skip ahead to now, and things are much better. I'm doing art again, and it's becoming what it used to be, and more. I'm beginning to love what I do. And I can proudly say that I have actually had a couple pieces on display. Lol. But anyway.. I guess what I'm trying to say is that my passion for art has returned, and that I am taking a few steps in the right direction. I wouldn't call myself an "artist" just yet, but I'm getting there.

I used to feel so out of place and inexperienced compared to the others in my major, but now I feel as though I'm starting to blend, and even stand out in my own way. Tonight I have some paint studies to finish, and I'm rather excited to see how they turn out. But until then..
